Senior Backend Engineer - Acquisition (f/m/x)
About this role
Accountabilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting core platform functionalities
• Own the implementation and delivery of new features, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Manage production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization
• Integrate external services and third-party APIs into the platform ecosystem
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Define and promote engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines
• Document technical solutions clearly through diagrams, code comments, and supporting materials
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to onboarding and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Occasionally support frontend-related tasks to ensure seamless feature delivery
Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend systems in production environments
• Strong proficiency in Go and solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with modern backend technologies such as gRPC, Redis, or message queues
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies and ability to contribute when needed
• Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerized environments like Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams
• Curiosity for new technologies, including AI-powered development tools, and a willingness to experiment
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is a plus
• Based in Europe (including the UK) with valid work authorization
