Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Accountant – Financial Data Governance within the Corporate Accounting Finance Master Data Governance Team located in Wilmington, DE. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Governance Manager, this position is primarily responsible for supporting the ongoing implementation and governance of finance master data within enterprise financial systems, as well as maintaining accounting period controls. This role will also support process improvement initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional project teams, support corporate month-end close processes, maintain finance master data, and assist with internal controls and audit activities. The position partners closely with IT, project teams, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Finance FP&A, and business leaders across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
• Ensure an effective and efficient monthly close process through strong governance and coordination.
• Partner with business and finance teams to research and resolve transactional master data issues across source and target systems.
• Maintain and govern finance master data objects, including but not limited to cost objects, legal entities, organizational structures, and related hierarchies.
• Support enterprise data governance processes including data quality, standardization, and lifecycle management.
• Actively engage with business partners on projects, financial close activities, data analysis, and technical support.
• Review, research, and assist in resolving system interface and data replication issues across integrated financial systems.
• Support timely opening and closing of accounting periods in alignment with corporate policies and controls.
Other Responsibilities:
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on finance master data governance and related processes.
• Understand system data flows and financial data structure to analyze how transactions are recorded, mapped, and reported.
• Provide guidance and support to end users on financial data governance and system usage.
• Collaborate with IT and Corporate Accounting to enhance system capabilities, data integrity, and process efficiency.
• Support internal and external audit requests related to financial data governance and controls.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within finance data and close processes.
What Skills You Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance and/or financial systems/data governance.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, including close, master data, and transactional data flows.
• Experience working with SAP (e.g. S/4 HANA, ECC, Central Finance, or similar ERP environments) and understanding of how financial data flows through integrated systems.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, evaluate solutions, and recommend practical approaches.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with broader Microsoft applications (e.g. PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a high degree of accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
• Ability to adapt to evolving processes, systems, and business needs with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Willingness to support critical business cycles, including extended hours during month-end close and project-driven activities.
