Senior Data Analyst

Position Summary:

Handles complex issues and problems. Applies comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of area of specialty. Leads moderately complex projects and programs.

Designs, develops, implements, and maintains data programming solutions for data quality and business rules analysis, hypothesis testing, champion/challenger testing, and product or strategy decision advancements. Maintains a technical process expertise through understanding of the software solutions, technical steps, and underlying data used to execute the decisioning. Subject matter expert on the input and output of data to support any research or advancements. Programs for the desired workflow of data decisions and hypothesis testing. Maintains a quality and control aspect of the data execution used for decision making. Is able to build data visualizations to report and inform others what is occurring in the underlying data.

Professional Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to write and troubleshoot stored procedures in MS Sql server (TSQL and or PLSQL experience preferred).

• Experience with Create/Modify/Execute SQL Server scheduled jobs/SPs/Functions

• Ability to create, develop and modify reports based upon operational requirements

• Proficient at developing and maintaining reporting packages through visualization tools (Power BI or R shiny preferred).

• Able to write complex join, union, pivot, common table expression query statements for complex data calculations using time window functions in SQL.

• Familiarity with computerized modeling and how to utilize models in data sets

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex data quality issues or other business problems

Experience:

• Intermediate-level experience in Data Mining, Data Analysis, Report building and SQL with strong data mining/data visualization capabilities

• 3-5 years’ work experience.

• BA/BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or quantitative field

Key Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

• Provide data mining, cleaning, and data analysis using database programming/mining tools.

• Manage and oversees the complex coding and processes which execute business decisions/activities.

• Partner with business leaders to perform data research leading to new  strategies and processes to assist with the advancement of strategic decisions.

• Design the monitoring and control mechanisms to business processes to ensure we maintain compliance with policies and procedures.

• Maintain stored procedure documentation along with change management and testing documentation as required.

• Investigate data to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights

• Manage multiple projects in addition to day to day process tasks management on medium to high value items.

• Reviewing and improving data mining and transformation processes, methods, and tools

• Build and maintain visualization dashboards for showing activity performance as it relates to strategy processes being maintained by the department.

• Partners with compliance and IT to ensure data quality and process rules are being managed correctly.

• Subject Matter Expert for the process, data, and overall execution of at least one product/channel area. Is the SME for the data used to monitor the performance, rules, and integrity of the channel's strategy execution.
