Accountabilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines for data ingestion from various sources.
• Architect data pipelines in AWS, ensuring they are event-driven and reliable.
• Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code for data ingestion workflows.
• Use Dagster for orchestrating pipeline execution and monitoring.
• Implement data quality checks and alerting mechanisms across pipelines.
• Identify and resolve systemic failure modes in data processes.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to align data support for downstream models.
• Set technical direction for data architecture and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
• 7–10+ years of data engineering experience, with 2+ years in a senior role.
• Proficient in designing data pipelines with Python and SQL.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, and S3.
• Familiarity with building event-driven and API-based ingestion systems.
• Proficient in data orchestration tools like Dagster.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) principles.
• Experience with data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language beyond SQL and Python.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices including version control.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex data and infrastructure issues.
