Position Summary

The Senior Data Scientist will support pharmacist and technician staffing analytics by owning analytical workflows, driving ongoing metric updates, and delivering ad‑hoc insights tied to a widely used composite staffing metric. This role is part of a data science team focused on enabling workforce planning decisions through rigorous analytics, forecasting, and performance measurement.

The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing analytical logic behind staffing metrics, ensuring data quality and consistency, and responding to evolving business questions through ad‑hoc analysis. The role will also support forecasting efforts that inform staffing plans, labor optimization, and operational readiness. This position partners closely with TA, operations, workforce planning, and finance stakeholders to ensure outputs are actionable, trusted, and aligned with business needs.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in a data science role (time series modeling required)

• Experience supporting staffing, labor, workforce, or operational analytics in a business environment

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, metric development, and automation

• Strong experience querying and manipulating large datasets using SQL

• Hands‑on experience maintaining, enhancing, or operationalizing business‑critical metrics or analytical products

• Experience performing ad‑hoc analysis to support operational or leadership decision‑making

• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional partners to deliver analytical insights

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate operational challenges into data‑driven insights

• Ability to clearly communicate analytical results, assumptions, and limitations to non‑technical stakeholders

• Experience with staffing models, labor forecasting, capacity planning, or workforce optimization

• Familiarity with forecasting techniques applied to operational or labor drivers

• Experience contributing to documentation, metric definitions, or standardized analytical processes

• Comfort operating in fast‑moving environments with evolving priorities and frequent stakeholder requests

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
