Senior GIS Analyst - Mapping Data & Quality Control

What We're Looking For

This role will serve as the Sr GIS Analyst for mapping data administration and quality control supporting enterprise-wide spatial data operations across all airport campuses. This role requires expertise in geospatial data governance, asset mapping, and quality assurance, with a focus on delivering accurate, timely, and standardized mapping products that support operational, planning, and leasing functions. This position will serve as an extension of staff to the Miami Dade Aviation Department staff working at Miami International Airport.

What You’ll Do:

• Works with design office to identify and implement value added services to the clients.
• Identifies when to integrate GIS technology into an existing or future project.
• Develops digital display tools to allow the end user to easily display and analyze the data in the GIS database.
• Develops GIS applications using ESRI software, .NET, JavaScript, HTML or Windows client-based development tools.
• Provides input into the business development process, such as defining proposed milestones, estimating work, documenting understanding of need and process to fulfill need.
• Defines standard formats for various GIS product deliverables specific to the industry.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning or related field and 6 years related experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products, or
• In lieu of degree, 10 years of relevant experience

What We Prefer:

• Lead and execute campus-wide asset mapping and building interior asset documentation, ensuring spatial accuracy and alignment with enterprise standards.

• Conduct data tracking and survey coordination, including field verification and integration of GPS/GIS inputs.

• Manage incoming data triage, including the intake, review, and validation of record drawings and documentation.

• Oversee the progress and quality control of mapping data workflows, guiding internal staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Process and prioritize daily map exhibit requests including electronic data file transmittals, airport asset ID assignment, spatial analysis and calculations, and record drawing searches.

• Deliver exhibit production services including standard exhibit updates, lease exhibit generation, and special exhibit customization.

• Maintain and update basemaps and floorplans for all airport facilities, ensuring consistency across terminals, airfields, and support buildings.

• Provide strategic input on data governance protocols, metadata standards, and mapping conventions.

• Document workflows and deliverables; prepare status reports and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

What We Prefer:

• Proven experience in GIS data administration, mapping workflows, and spatial data quality control.

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, REVIT, and enterprise geodatabase management.

• Familiarity with airport infrastructure, asset tracking, and lease mapping requirements preferred.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and guide internal teams.
