About this role

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Manager Data Science reporting to General Manager Data Science and Delivery.

A bit about your role

The role will involve designing and delivering advanced analytics solutions using AI, machine learning, optimisation solvers, and data mining techniques. In this role, you will partner closely with business stakeholders to define complex problems, develop testable hypotheses, and build high‑quality models that are embedded into scalable data products.

As a senior member of the team, you will work within a cross‑functional environment to translate insights into impact, while also mentoring and developing junior data scientists. You will contribute to best practices, uplift team capability, and help shape a strong analytics culture that drives data‑informed decision‑making.

A bit about you

You will hold a tertiary qualification in a data science–related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications advantageous. Strong machine learning capability, and hands‑on experience working across data platforms, governance, and AI/ML environments will set you up for success. Experience deploying models into production and building data products is highly regarded.

You demonstrate strong technical skills in Python or R, SQL, data manipulation libraries, version control, visualisation, and cloud platforms such as AWS. You pair this with solid business acumen, excellent communication and influencing skills, and strong planning and organisational capability to deliver impactful, high‑quality data solutions.
