Senior Mechanical Engineer, Industrial / Mining
About this role
What You’ll Do
• Lead mechanical design for industrial facilities, including mining and production operations
• Design and oversee systems including:
• Industrial ventilation and dust collection
• Process piping, pumping, and plumbing
• Balance-of-plant and material handling support systems
• Scope project requirements, verify calculations, and validate equipment selection
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and architectural teams
• Mentor and support early‑career engineers
• Support construction administration and site visits as needed
• Contribute to project coordination, client interactions, or proposals
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy industrial or mining environments
• Strong experience leading design efforts and mentoring junior engineers
• Experience leading technical design efforts across disciplines
• Strong communication skills and interest in mentoring others
• Ability to travel occasionally (generally up to ~20%).
• Valid driver's license
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and/or Plant 3D preferred
• Previous design experience in mining or industrial facilities
