Job Summary:
The Platform Engineering team is a close-knit group of five highly senior, deeply experienced engineers focused on solving some of the hardest self-service challenges in our developer platform space — from CI/CD and Kubernetes to AI-powered tooling and internal developer portals. We build platforms that make deploying and operating applications faster, more secure, and highly repeatable, removing friction at scale so teams across the organization can move quickly with confidence. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside exceptional engineers on meaningful, high-impact problems where your ideas and expertise truly matter. The team operates in Hybrid, focusing office time for meaningful collaboration.
Platform Engineering exists to empower product engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate healthcare software faster, more reliably, and more securely. We tackle complex cross-functional domains to deliver end-to-end self-service platforms, golden paths, and developer tools that reduce cognitive load so development teams can focus on delivering value to clinicians and patients. We may not own every part of the stack, but we are the glue that pieces it together meaningfully — and we own the reliability of what we build through SRE practices.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development & Engineering
Platform Operations & Reliability
Platform Adoption & Developer Enablement
Technical Leadership & Standards
System Design & Architecture
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum:
Strong proficiency with Kubernetes across the full cluster stack — operating complex environments, extending platform capabilities, and maintaining reliability at scale
Expert-level proficiency building and operating CI/CD pipelines optimized for security, compliance, and developer experience
Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js for building production-grade platform services, APIs, CLIs, and SDKs, with strong automated testing practices (unit, integration, E2E)
Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and GitOps practices
Strong proficiency with observability (metrics, logging, distributed tracing, SLI/SLO frameworks, error budgets) and proven operational ownership including on-call incident response and post-mortems
Working proficiency with cloud security practices (IAM, secret handling, encryption) and cloud networking (virtual network design, routing, firewall controls) in a production environment
Strong communication, influence, and documentation skills — able to translate technical complexity for engineers and non-engineers alike, and produce ADRs, runbooks, and developer-facing documentation
Preferred:
Experience with AI/ML integration: LLM APIs, intelligent automation, AI-assisted developer tooling, and agentic patterns
Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product initiatives, including developer portals and self-service tooling
Experience with policy-as-code, security automation, compliance tooling (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST), and cloud cost optimization (FinOps)
Active contribution to open-source projects or thought leadership through technical blogging, conference speaking, or community contributions
