Senior Program Intelligence Analyst
About this role
Job Description
Senior Program Intelligence Analyst
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to our Engineering Technical Center in Warren (MI) or Austin (TX) three times per week at minimum. This position can be located at either of these locations.
At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard – from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.
Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.
The Role
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on individual contributor to help define and deliver the future of Program Intelligence, analytics and AI across the Program Management organization. This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, storytelling, and portfolio execution – enabling senior leadership to make faster, smarter decisions through high-quality, actionable insights.
You will be a key contributor to the Program Intelligence strategy, building scalable data products (dashboards, AI Agents, and analytics pipelines) and ensuring that information is consistent, trusted, and decision-ready. You’ll work directly with PMO leaders and cross-functional partners to design and deliver high-impact customer facing tools (AI Agents, Webapps, etc) and narratives that connect data to business outcomes.
Why This Role Matters
GM’s vehicle portfolio is evolving faster than ever and demands sharper insight and tighter alignment across the enterprise. This role helps define how we measure what matters – turning data into the connective tissue between strategy, capacity, and execution.
What You’ll Do
• Contribute to the Program Intelligence & Reporting Strategy: Help shape the long-term vision, principles, and architecture for how management information, reporting, and dashboards support portfolio and capacity decision-making.
• Build decision-grade data products: Design, prototype, and deliver dashboards and reports that serve as the single source of truth for program health, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Own end-to-end analytics workflows: Translate business questions into metrics, data models, and visualizations that drive clear, actionable decisions.
• Drive integration and automation: Partner with data engineering and IT to integrate data from Jira, Sharepoint, and enterprise systems — enabling seamless, near real-time visibility across the PMO.
• Elevate how insights are communicated: Transform complex data into simple, compelling stories that drive alignment and action at the leadership level.
• Advance a data-driven culture: Help teams move from reporting to true insight — clarifying what the data means, why it matters, and how to act on it.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or management reporting roles.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Cloud Analytics tools (Databricks, AWS, etc) and development of AI driven solutions.
• Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reporting using modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and designing data pipelines.
• Strong ability to connect metrics to business context — translating operational data into executive-level insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication, visualization, and data storytelling skills, especially for senior audiences.
• Highly collaborative and influential across technical, product, and business stakeholders, with the ability to align diverse perspectives around shared metrics and insights.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
• MBA or advanced degree in a business or quantitative discipline.
• Background in tech, product, or engineering environments with a focus on scaling data-driven decision frameworks.
• Knowledge of Data Science and Machine learning principles.
• Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous business needs into structured, insightful reporting systems and dashboards.
