What it’s like working at CBC/Radio-Canada

Your role:

As a Senior Research Analyst in Audience Analytics and Corporate Reporting, your role is to provide specialized analytical and insightful expertise that support the corporate audience research and performance reporting group. You will work in a collaborative environment on the analysis of syndicated audience measurement (such as Numeris, Adobe, Comscore and social data), standardized industry reports, and other proprietary databases with a goal of creating client-friendly insights. You will also assist in the management of cross-departmental reporting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manipulate relevant data from a variety of sources including audience research, and internal datasets. This involves using specialized computer programs such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI to generate data, interpret results and verify validity and meaning;

• Conceive, develop and write reports that present results of analyses in a fully documented form with graphs, charts and tables appropriate to the material and the intended audience;

• Inform and advise management of research findings by means of written reports, memos and presentations. This involves explaining the terminology, clarifying the results and, if appropriate, positioning the data with respect to relevant historical trends;

• Produce recurring and ad hoc audience reporting, including interactive dashboards in PowerBI;

• Report on performance and gather research from across the corporation to support our reporting obligations internally, with the public, the Board and international organizations;

• Support the updates of large documents, ensuring alignment across methodologies, processes and teams;

• Liaise with various clients and stakeholders – both internally and externally – to facilitate the everyday functions of the Corporate Research group.

We're looking for candidates with the following:

• A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience conducting research and analysis;

• Post-secondary degree in a field requiring strong research and analytical skills (such as Social Sciences, Economics, Business, Statistics, or Media Studies), or equivalent education and professional experience;

• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset;

• Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and present data clearly, succinctly and effectively;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written), as well as the ability to work independently and within a team;

• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, and experience with large databases and spreadsheets;

• Ability to proactively manage client relationships, translate business needs into formal project requirements, and clearly define scope and success metrics for deliverables;

• Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects by efficiently prioritizing tasks and deadlines using project management tools like Jira;

• Experience with measurement software such as Instar, Adobe or Comscore would be an asset;

• Experience in data visualization and knowledge of Power BI would be an asset;

• Knowledge of the broadcasting industry and media landscape would be an asset;

• Excellent attention to detail;

• Initiative, creativity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

This position will not be filled until consideration has been made by the CBC/Radio-Canada / APS Workforce Adjustment Committee.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
