Senior Software Engineer, Computer Vision
About this role
Accountabilities
• Design, build, and improve multi-stage computer vision pipelines combining object detection, multimodal LLM extraction, and structured data reconciliation for clinical imaging use cases.
• Own pipeline accuracy by defining metrics, diagnosing failure modes, and improving system performance through preprocessing, prompt engineering, and decoding strategies.
• Develop and maintain structured prompting frameworks for multimodal models, including schema-driven extraction, confidence calibration, and ambiguity handling.
• Build and optimize Python backend services that deliver CV pipeline outputs to downstream clinical and operational systems.
• Design data models and persistence layers that ensure traceability, auditability, and reproducibility of extracted results.
• Implement robust async backend systems using modern Python frameworks to support scalable and reliable processing workflows.
• Continuously improve system resilience, ensuring outputs remain reliable even when individual pipeline components fail.
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience building production backend or AI-driven systems, with strong exposure to computer vision or multimodal pipelines.
• Proven experience working with multimodal LLM APIs in production environments, including structured prompting, schema validation, and fallback handling.
• Strong Python engineering skills, with experience in FastAPI, Pydantic v2, async programming, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with image preprocessing techniques such as normalization, thresholding, resizing, and rotation correction.
• Familiarity with barcode/QR decoding or similar machine-readable data extraction techniques.
• Strong understanding of building reliable, production-grade systems with emphasis on observability, traceability, and fault tolerance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with distributed engineering teams.
