Senior Specialist - Data Scientist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to contribute to data science initiatives focused on customer analytics, personalization, recommendation systems, next-best-action strategies, and NLP/text analytics.

In this role, you will work with large-scale customer, product, content, and interaction data to develop machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that improve customer experience, support business decision-making, increase operational efficiency.
You will collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders across the full lifecycle of data science projects, from problem framing and exploration to model development, deployment support, monitoring, and impact assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify objectives, and translate business questions into analytical approaches.
• Contribute to end-to-end data science projects, from business problem framing to model development, validation, deployment support, impact assessment, and performance evaluation.
• Develop machine learning and advanced analytics solutions for customer analytics, personalization, recommendation systems, next-best-action, and next-best-offer use cases.
• Apply NLP and generative AI techniques on unstructured data to generate actionable insights
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers, data engineers, and platform teams to support model deployment.
• Support the prioritization and delivery of multiple data science initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Mentor junior data scientists when needed and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay up to date with relevant developments in machine learning, generative AI, NLP, recommendation systems, and applied analytics.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Solid experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data-driven decisioning.
• Ability to structure analytical problems and deliver practical solutions in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Python and common data science libraries for analysis, modeling, and experimentation.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Proficiency with Git for version control, code collaboration, and reproducible analytical workflows.
• Good business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with customer analytics, personalization, recommendation systems, next-best-action or next-best-offer models is highly desirable.
• Experience with topic modeling, generative AI applications and Agentic Frameworks is a strong plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP), scalable data environments, production-grade analytics solutions is a plus.
• Proficiency in both Italian and English is mandatory.
