Software Engineer (Croatia)

As an Experienced Software Engineer at Datatonic, you will architect the interface between humans and AI. We don’t just build web apps; we build production-grade GenAI solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights on Google Cloud. You will own the journey from "vague business requirement" to a scalable, secure, and intuitive application.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- End-to-End AI Apps: Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications that integrate LLMs and AI capabilities into seamless user experiences.

- Architecture & Design: Create High-Level Designs (HLD) and data flow diagrams, choosing the right Google Cloud services to ensure performance and scalability.

- Engineering Excellence: Build production-grade, well-tested software. You’ll own the application lifecycle, from CI/CD automation to monitoring and security.

- Consultative Delivery: Act as a technical partner for our clients, translating ambiguous needs into technical roadmaps and identifying the best frameworks for the job.

- Collaborative Impact: Work alongside Data Scientists, ML Engineers, DevOps, Data/Analytics Engineers to bridge the gap between model outputs and front-end reality.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- The Experience: 3+ years in software engineering roles, with a track record of delivering production-ready code.

- The Stack:

- Frontend: Experience in modern frameworks (React, Svelte/SvelteKit, or Angular) and UI/UX principles.

- Backend: Proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js, with experience in REST/GraphQL and microservices.

- Data: Strong database design skills (SQL & NoSQL) and cloud-native scaling.

- Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with the GCP ecosystem (Cloud Run, GKE, Firebase) and a commitment to secure coding practices (OAuth, OIDC, OWASP).

- The Mindset: A "T-Shaped" engineer who can navigate technical debt, mentor peers, and communicate complex trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
