Software Engineer, Growth
About this role
THE COMPANY YOU’LL JOIN
At Garage, we’re on a mission to ensure the vehicles—like firetrucks—and equipment that keep communities safe reach the people who need them faster, smarter, and more efficiently. By turning months of manual processes into minutes with our AI-powered marketplace, we help protect communities, save taxpayer dollars, and strengthen the industries that keep America running.
We've raised $18M to date, and are backed by Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, Infinity Ventures, FJ Labs, and other leading investors.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Growth engineering at Garage builds the systems that turn our sales motion into a machine. You'll own the data infrastructure, internal tools, and AI-powered workflows that fill our pipeline, working closely with our sales team and the dealers, manufacturers, fleet operators, and government buyers who move specialty vehicles across the country. The industry runs on PDFs, phone calls, and software built in 2003, and we'd rather build the modern version in-house than wire together someone else's tools.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build the data infrastructure that finds every buyer and seller in this industry and turns fragmented data into pipeline.
- Ship internal tools that make our sales team dramatically more effective: outbound automation, lead routing, sequencing, deal-room tooling.
- Apply AI and LLMs to unstructured data and turn it into signal that fills our pipeline.
- Build agents that work in the background to compound our sales advantage.
ABOUT YOU
- 2+ years of software engineering experience preferred. A full software engineer, not a specialist.
- Extremely AI-native. You live in the frontier, and AI is how you ship.
- Track record of shipping high-quality products at scale, including with and for agents.
- An edge. You think in systems, not tickets. Strong opinions, willing to question the status quo, and driven to become a real expert in whatever space you work in.
- Comfort being customer-facing, a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and the drive to master your craft.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Startup experience as a technical co-founder or early engineer.
- Experience working with messy real-world data from analog sources.
- Familiarity with sales and marketing automation tools (Clay, HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo).
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary and stock options
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and all your dependents
- Enjoy daily catered lunches at our New York City office
- Unlimited paid time off every year
- $100 / month wellness stipend
- Bi-annual team offsite
- Opportunity to modernize one of the largest, most outdated marketplaces
