Sr Backend Software Engineer, Recording

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting recording, data ingestion, and workflow processing at scale.

• Develop and optimize distributed systems and microservices to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Build and enhance data pipelines and backend services supporting AI inference and internal machine learning capabilities.

• Work with message queues, background jobs, and orchestration tools (e.g., Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, Celery) to manage asynchronous processing.

• Improve system performance by optimizing APIs, database queries, and backend architecture.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems in AWS environments.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve backend infrastructure for long-term scalability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in critical systems.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in backend software engineering using Python, Go, or TypeScript.

• Strong experience designing and operating distributed systems in production environments.

• Proven track record building large-scale data ingestion, processing, or workflow systems.

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and backend system design.

• Deep understanding of asynchronous processing tools such as Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Celery.

• Strong knowledge of API design, database optimization, and system performance tuning.

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable application code.

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

• Bonus: experience with Django and/or startup environments.
