Sr. BI Application Platform Engineer

Job Summary
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of new or existing applications, systems, programs, or software including We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior BI Application Platform Engineer to own, maintain, and enhance our custom-built BI applications developed using both Microsoft .NET and Java frameworks. This role is part of the BI Platform Engineering team and is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and modernization of enterprise BI applications.
This position includes hands-on development, application modernization planning, and L1/L2 production support, including on-call responsibilities. The role will also support future alignment of custom applications with evolving analytics platforms, including Microsoft Fabric.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Custom BI Application Support & Ownership
• Own maintenance, enhancement, and support of internally built BI applications using .NET and Java frameworks.
• Ensure stability, performance, and availability of business‑critical BI applications.
Application Development (.NET & Java)
• Develop and enhance custom applications using:
• .NET Framework / C# AND
• Java
• Build APIs and services that support BI and analytics platform needs.
• Follow enterprise coding, security, and development standards.
Platform Modernization & Future Development
• Support modernization of legacy applications to modern .NET and current Java standards.
• Align custom applications with future analytics and platform modernization roadmap.
• Partner with BI and platform teams on evolving application needs.
Production Support & Operations
• Provide L1/L2 production support for BI applications.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident support.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long‑term fixes.
• Support application monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate with BI engineers, data engineers, and platform teams.
• Maintain basic documentation and support runbooks.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using:
• .NET Framework / C# AND
• Java (UI – Next JS, Backend – Java)
• Experience supporting mission‑critical production applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience providing L1/L2 production application support.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git (YAML preferred).
• Experience working with Azure-hosted applications or services.
• Experience modernizing applications to modern .NET and/or newer Java versions.
• Exposure to BI and analytics platforms, including:
• Azure data services
• Microsoft Fabric
• Experience building APIs and platform integration services.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$101,000.00 - $152,000.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
