Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.?  Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for Sr. Mgr. Modules Characterization & Product Engineer. In this position, you will in the R&D team, part of the Power Modules Subdivision based in Borgaro Torinese (TO, Italy), reporting to the head of R&D and Product Engineering of the Borgaro Design Center.

Job Location:

Vishay Semiconductor Italiana spa is site focused on the design, development and production of power diodes and power modules. There are around 300 employees currently work in Borgaro Torinese Italy. This number is constantly growing due to our expansion plans.

What you will be doing:

• Managing the product engineering group, that is responsible for concepting, characterizing, releasing and managing all the power modules products from the electrical standpoint. Activities to be supervised, for which specific competence is needed, include:
• Elaborating target datasheets for new products, estimating the key performance data based on dice datasheets and package characteristics, using simulations if needed.
• Design the electrical part of the power module, specifying, selecting and evaluating the dice and other components to be integrated .
• Characterize the power module electrical performance, being able to perform all the measurements needed, including the design of specific boards e.g. for contacting the parts with low stray inductance.
• Simulating the electromagnetic behaviour of a power module using FEM software, including parasitics extraction.
• Design the test for a specific power module (sequence and parameters setting), including selecting a test machine if needed.
• Addressing issues on the existing product portfolio either at Vishay manufacturing or at customer application.

• Managing the workload of the employees, assigning the correct tasks and the activities of the group.
• Growing up the employees, ensuring that they will follow the most suitable professional path related to their specific characteristics.
• Addressing the requests coming from customers by producing the necessary product specifications, either deriving it from an existing product or concepting a new one, including direct interaction with the customer during the development.

What you will bring along:

• Knowledge of power semiconductors, in terms of technological process, key characteristics, failure mechanism and behavior in a circuit application.
• Master’s degree in electronic engineering that included courses of electronic devices physics and power electronics
• 5-10 years of work experience in a company covering the topics listed above
• Knowledge of the main power conversion circuits, such as rectifier or inverter bridges, power factor correctors, dc/dc converters
• Electrical modeling, including parasitics.
• Electrical measurements.
• Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in a worldwide company, taking advantage of the potential of the various R&D teams around the world and thinking in a continuous improvement way.
• Willingness to travel to the various sites worldwide and to the customers sites if needed.
• Knoledge: Microsoft Office,Cadence Allegro Package Designer X, PSPICE or other circuit design and simulation tools, including parasitics extraction (Clarity, Q3D), JMP/Minitab, CAD for test adaptor design.
