Staff Engineer- SAP Business Intelligence

Key Responsibilities

SAP BW & HANA Development (30%)

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale solutions on SAP BW 7.5 on HANA and above
• Develop and optimize Native HANA Cloud data models.
• Build and maintain HANA Cloud & Datasphere models
• Implement efficient data provisioning using SLT, SDA, SDI, and ODP frameworks
• Optimize BW queries and HANA models for performance and scalability

Analytics & Reporting (25%)

• Develop dashboards and analytical stories using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• Design and maintain reports using SAP BO Web Intelligence (WebI) 4.x
• Integrate BW, HANA, and Datasphere with SAC and BO tools
• Enable real-time and predictive analytics use cases

System Integration & Data Engineering (25%)

• Integrate SAP ECC 6.0, APO, S/4HANA, and non-SAP sources
• Build robust ETL pipelines and transformation logic
• Develop ABAP-based data extraction and transformation programs
• Implement governance, security, and data quality frameworks

Architecture & Design (15%)

• Participate in global BI architecture and design discussions
• Design scalable cloud-native analytics solutions
• Drive modernization of legacy BI systems into HANA Cloud and Datasphere

Operations & Support

• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Ensure system stability, data accuracy, and performance
• Maintain technical documentation and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

Core SAP Skills

• 8+ years of experience in SAP BW on HANA, HANA CLOUD and SAP SAC.
• Strong hands-on experience in BW 7.5 on HANA and above
• Experience with SAP Datasphere
• Native HANA Cloud Modelling (Calculation Views, SQLScript, CDS)
• Strong SAP BO BI 4.x (WebI) experience
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• Data provisioning using SLT, ODP, SDA, SDI
• Strong ABAP development skills for BW extractors and transformations

Backend & Integration

• SAP ECC 6.0 and APO integration
• Experience with real-time and batch data replication
• Performance tuning and query optimization

AI & Advanced Analytics (Preferred)

• Exposure to AI/ML models for forecasting and predictive analytics
• Experience integrating AI outputs into SAC dashboards

Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working in global delivery models
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

Education

• UG: B.Tech / B.E. (Any specialization), MCA
• PG: Not mandatory
• Doctorate: Not required
