Staff Platform Engineer
About this role
Accountabilities:
• Lead the design, evolution, and optimization of a multi-cloud platform architecture across AWS and GCP, with a focus on Kubernetes, networking, and core infrastructure
• Build and standardize internal platform capabilities such as CI/CD pipelines, observability systems, service templates, and developer “golden paths” to improve engineering efficiency
• Develop and operate shared platform services using Go-based operators and infrastructure components such as Kafka, Neo4j, and other distributed systems
• Collaborate with product engineering, security, and SRE teams to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient system design across cloud environments
• Drive adoption of platform best practices across engineering teams, enabling consistent and scalable service development and deployment
• Improve system reliability and efficiency through automation, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization initiatives
• Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the overall technical bar across the platform organization
Requirements:
• Strong production experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP
• Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes in production environments, including service mesh technologies such as Istio
• Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPC design, routing, load balancing, WAFs, and network policies
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong software engineering skills with proficiency in Golang
• Experience supporting or operating stateful distributed systems such as Kafka, databases, or graph-based systems in cloud environments
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles including IAM and security group design
• Ability to analyze complex distributed systems and troubleshoot deeply technical infrastructure issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex technical concepts
• Independent, proactive, and highly detail-oriented approach to engineering work
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
