The Systems Engineer plays a key role in supporting the development and integration of advanced generator control systems within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to build a strong technical foundation in controls, electrical system architecture, and system-level design.
Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the Systems Engineer will contribute to the development of control algorithms, system requirements, and performance specifications while gaining hands-on experience troubleshooting real-world technical challenges. This role offers the opportunity to grow technical expertise, engage with global teams, and make meaningful contributions to innovative power systems solutions.
Work Mode: Hybrid-3 days in office
Location: Mosel facility at N7650 County Rd LS, Sheboygan, WI, 53083
The Systems Engineer is responsible for:
• Assisting in the development of controls technologies and algorithms under guidance of senior engineers
• Supporting creation and documentation of system-level requirements for controller development
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting technical issues with appropriate mentorship
• Developing foundational technical knowledge in generator control system design
Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing, analyzing, and documenting electrical system architectures
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support development and documentation of system requirements and specifications
• Assist in developing and documenting generator controller electrical schematics to support controller integration
• Support development and documentation of electronic controls system-level performance specifications
• Contribute to system-level design ideas for current and future projects
• Support cross-functional teams in documenting system risk analyses
• Provide technical input during team design reviews based on assigned tasks and growing system knowledge
• Investigate, resolve, and document generator system technical issues under supervision
• Participate in technical discussions with internal teams and occasionally external parties as appropriate
• Build and share technical knowledge through internal forums, training, and professional development activities
• Support special technical projects as needed by the department
Requirements:
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 0–2 years of related engineering experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects applicable)
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and small projects with guidance
• Basic knowledge of C and/or C++ or equivalent high-level programming language
• Basic familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
• Exposure to one or more of the following is a plus:
• PSPICE, OrCAD
• PLC programming
• Agile or waterfall project development approaches

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn complex systems and apply engineering fundamentals
• Attention to detail and documentation
• Customer-focused mindset
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Introductory knowledge of power systems concepts such as wiring and grounding.
• Paralleling, and load management is a plus.
• Exposure to communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, I²C, SPI) is a plus
• Awareness of industry standards and regulatory requirements is a plus
