Job Description
At Ameriprise Financial, technology is a strategic differentiator. We are seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Architecture Platforms & AI Enablement to define and lead the platform architecture strategy that enables innovation, accelerates delivery, and unlocks the value of AI across the enterprise.
In this role, you will shape how platforms and GenAI capabilities are designed, governed, and adopted—delivering secure, reusable, and AI-ready building blocks that power product teams and business outcomes. You will leverage your strong competencies in cloud architecture, DevSecOps, database, integration, security, and enterprise systems to lead a high-performing global architecture organization and partner with senior technology and business leaders to modernize the enterprise technology landscape.
This is a highly visible leadership role for a strategic architect and change agent who thrives at the intersection of platform thinking, cloud-native architecture, and responsible AI.

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Accountabilities:
Enterprise Platform Strategy & Architecture
• Define and lead the enterprise platform architecture vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, positioning platforms as products aligned to business priorities and outcomes.
• Establish reference architectures, blueprints, and standards that enable secure, consistent reuse and faster delivery across teams.
• Modernize architecture governance through pragmatic guardrails and enablement models that improve speed, quality, and measurable results.
• Shape and advance the enterprise GenAI strategy and capability roadmap, aligned to priority use cases, value creation, and risk management.
• Define AI-ready and GenAI-enabled architecture patterns, including governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI controls.
• Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI agents, cloud-native services, and DevSecOps automation—and drive adoption where they create differentiated enterprise value.
Technology Leadership & Influence
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global architecture organization, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and customer focus.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, influencing decisions through strong partnerships, clear communication, and executive presence.
• Guide senior architects in evaluating, selecting, and standardizing technologies to support enterprise-scale platforms and capabilities.
AI & GenAI Enablement
• Shape and advance the enterprise GenAI strategy and capability roadmap, aligned to priority use cases, value creation, and risk management.
• Define AI-ready and GenAI-enabled architecture patterns, including governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI controls.

• Guide senior architects in evaluating, selecting, and standardizing technologies to support enterprise-scale platforms and capabilities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture.
• Broad and deep expertise across cloud architecture, DevSecOps, integration, databases, security, and enterprise platforms.
• Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to balance technical rigor, business value, and stakeholder needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven leader, strategist, and communicator with experience influencing at the executive level.
• Demonstrated success enabling AI and GenAI capabilities at enterprise scale, particularly within regulated environments.
• Recognized thought leader and change agent in modernizing technology platforms and operating models.
• Experience leading and developing highly skilled, multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Financial services industry experience, including familiarity with industry standards and enterprise architecture practices.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $171,700 - $236,100 / year. We have a pay-for- performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
